Vaping and Health

Vaping is the act of inhaling and exhaling the aerosol, often called vapor, using an electronic cigarette or similar device. The term is used because electronic cigarettes do not produce tobacco smoke, but rather an aerosol, (often confused with water vapor).

Many times, “friends” will tell you, this is what is trending now or you have to try the new flavor that came out last week of red fruits and mint. When it comes to an e-cigarette that is literally on everyone's lips and that apparently does not cause major harm to health, you have to educate yourself before to use it and millions of harmful toxins enter the body. It does not matter if it is the latest trend, or if friends consume it and that to be part of the circle we have to do the same, it does not matter.

Sometimes there is the false idea that, to quit smoking, one of the ways is to use electronic cigarettes, but the truth is that there is no evidence about an effective medical, it is only a momentary way of stop anxiety and self-delusion. Vaping is just as harmful as regular smoking.

Electronic cigarettes contain highly toxic and dangerous chemicals for your health, in fact, 10 of the chemicals that are on the list of those that cause cancer, are found in the components of these cigarettes, not to mention that they cause birth defects and other damages reproductive. These particles also affect how your heart works; they can narrow the arteries and cause a heart attack. These chemicals have also been shown to damage DNA.

The liquid compounds found in the devices can inflame the respiratory system (inflammation of the lungs) to the point of developing cancer and / or chronic lung diseases, even the vapor without nicotine causes severe inflammation, the immune system is affected also by these substances making the body more likely to diseases.

The smoke / vapor from electronic cigarettes is harmless to the naked eye, the truth is that fine and ultrafine particles are present in these vapors that have significant health consequences. Even a brief exposure can irritate the throat and eyes, cause coughing, and make you feel dizzy. It can also trigger an asthma attack.

The liquid nicotine found in cigarettes is a highly addictive neurotoxin. It should be mentioned that this substance is derived from tobacco and that in high doses (50 to 60 grams) it can be lethal for an adult. Liquid nicotine has caused several poisonings to children and adults in recent months.

The effect of the substances that are present in electronic cigarettes is even more dangerous in young people because at an early age, the constantly developing brain is limited to reaching optimal maturity so that it can function properly.

In conclusion, as much as people try to sell you the idea that vaping or using electronic cigarettes is better than traditional smoking, IT IS NOT TRUE, you have to be aware and be smart to make the best decisions and not let others influence your choices, by the desire to belonging. It may be that the disastrous consequences of ingesting harmful substances are not seen immediately, but that, without a doubt, these toxins remain in the body and sooner or later cause damage, often irreversible.
